Question
I saw a documentary about a asbestos processing factory in the former Yugoslavia where people worked in a constant asbestos dust cloud without protection and most still lived to see 50 and 60. How is this possible when asbestos is so dangerous as many people would like us to believe? Or is it the same as the danger exaggeration with smoking ? Which is complete bullshit My grandpa lived for 88 years and he smoked cigarettes, cigars and a pipe, my dad is 67 and drinks and smokes alot.
Answer
Asbestos works like a time bomb. It can remain in your lungs for a long time and maybe never do much harm but for many men it will develop into cancerous cells. The same for cigarettes, smoke them long enough and they'll eventually get you if something else doesn't get you first. Sure there are exceptions, e.g. my grandfather lived to be 92 and ate all the wrong foods, smoked a pipe, and chewed tobacco but he died from pneumonia. There are exceptions to all rules but I, not going to take that chance. We all have to go sometime but why hurry it up.I like it here. Permalink:
